Finding predictability & peace in uncertainty
I once spoke to a guy (let’s call him Tim) who was living his DREAM LIFE but had no control over his “bad choices”. He told me that he was so satisfied with his current life and it took him close to 5 years to reach where he had reached- professionally, financially, relationship-wise, etc. But the problem was that he had absolutely no control over his choices; it was like his mind went all guns blazing to sabotage his life. He started casually sleeping around with other women even though he was in love with his girlfriend of many years. They were even talking about getting married. He would sleep around with women he knew he would never want to marry or even date. He would just feel very very drawn to them. Even though work was going great, his mind went on an overdrive that something bad will happen- now, noww, nowwww, etc. He was exhausted and seeked some respite. When I wore the detective’s hat and dug his subconscious, we realised
>Last 5 years of his life were so so so uncertain that his subconscious mind found a way to make that seem safe. Why? Because that would have been the only way to SURVIVE! Our subconscious mind is brilliant like that and only has the intent to protect us dearly! So Tim’s mind made the most difficult, uncertain time of his life- the most normal and manageable. Uncertainty became Tim’s friend because it felt predictable.

“A known devil is better than an unknown angel?”
Uncertainty was the known (predictable) devil in Tim’s life!
>But now, everything in Tim’s life was picture perfect. All the ducks were in a row. Everything was settled, safe and certain. This started creating sparks of danger in his mind which had found predictability in unpredictability.
Once this was recognised, understood and shifted on the subconscious level, it took a good couple of weeks for Tim’s conscious to start acting in resonance with the new subconscious belief that
Certainty is safe!
